3 Things That Should Be On A Roofing Contractor's Quote

Getting a new roof put on your house can be expensive. However, not having that new roof may actually be more expensive in the long run. If you are going to get a new roof, you need to talk to some roofing contractors to get a quote from them on what it will cost for your new roof. You want to talk to two or three contractors to get a quote from them because you will be able to get the best price that way. So, what should be on the quote that you get from the contractors?

Materials List

One of the things that should be on the quote is a materials list. That list should include information about all the materials that will be going on your roof. Not only should the list say what kind of materials will be going on your roof, but they should also list the name brand, the line, the model name or number, and the color or style. For example, if you are getting asphalt shingles, the list says ABC Company asphalt shingles in the DEF product line and charcoal grey. Having all the details listed in the materials list of the quote makes sure that you know exactly what you are getting and how much it costs.

Licensing and Insurance

Your roofing contractor should be licensed by the state. That license number should be on the quote. They should also provide any insurance information. These two things let you know that the contractor is reliable and takes responsibility for their work and if there are any problems.

Work Hours

Work hours can refer to a few different things. It can refer to what hours the roofing crew will be at your house doing the work. For example, the quote may say they will work from 8 am to 4 pm. That will let you schedule your time around the roofers, and you won't be surprised when the crew first shows up. Work hours also refer to how long the crew will take to install your new roof. This part should be broken down by how many people are on the crew and how many days they will need to work.

If you need a new roof, you need to make sure that you get quotes from two or three roofing contractors. That will let you compare them to get the best contractor to do the job.
